Abstract

There are considerable career benefits for real estate academics to have strong linkages with the real estate industry. However, recent years have seen this become more difficult, as universities have placed an increased focus of research publications in the top ranked journals. This paper identifies specific strategies that will enable real estate academics to increase their real estate industry linkages, seeing added-value to their academic career agendas without losing focus on publishing high impact research in the leading real estate journals. Examples reinforcing these enabling strategies are given from the author’s own real estate academic career experiences.
