Dr William K.S. Cheung is an Associate Professor in Property at the University of Auckland Business School, recognised for his innovative transdisciplinary approach to real estate research. His research is transdisciplinary, involving such disciplines as property economics, tourism, urban studies and built-environment; international, both in the location of his empirical data and in his intensive collaboration with international co-researchers; largely quantitative, utilising large databases of property transactions, demographic information, census data, local body statistics etc., and using theoretical analysis and mathematical equations to propose and test hypotheses; and practical in facilitating the formulation of institutional policy and practice by evidence-based insights.
