Bio:

Dr. Sr Tham has a PhD in Real Estate Finance from the University of Malaya and is a registered Valuer, Property Manager & Estate Agent in Malaysia. He is also a licensed auctioneer in the Perak, Melaka, Selangor & Penang. He commenced his real estate career in 2011 and has undertaken numerous complex valuations and property consultancy assignments. He is an expert witness in high-profile litigation cases under the High Court of Malaya, involving assets valued at hundreds of millions of ringgit. These cases have encompassed claims, compensation, loss of income, damages, and other valuation bases for real property, plant and machinery, software, businesses (shares), intellectual property, and other intangible assets. Dr Sr Tham is widely recognized as a leading expert in forensic valuation and litigation-related valuations for numerous high-profile litigation cases. His previous clients include Luminor Capital Singapore Ltd, Alliance Bank Berhad, Real Estate Housing Developers Association (REHDA), Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (RISM), Genting Group Berhad, EcoWorld Berhad, High Court of Malaya, District Land Offices, Resorts World Singapore, Buler Engineering Group, MBSB, Maybank, Public Bank, Standard Chartered, AmBank, CIMB, Capitaland Group, Jabatan Warisan Negara, State Government of Perak, and Gombak Geopark Bhd.

Dr Sr Tham is also the recipient of Khazanah Nasional Berhad’s PhD Grant to pursue his PhD in Real Estate Finance at the University of Malaya, where he was awarded a fast-track route without a Master’s Degree. He graduated & received his PhD from the Chancellor of the University of Malaya, DYMM Sultan Nazrin Shah of Perak. He served as an Adjunct and Assistant Professor in several Malaysian Universities and had been also appointed as an expert reviewer for the International Journal of Housing Markets & Analysis (WoS & Scopus Indexed Journal) since 2021. Appointed as the principal investigator and recipient of the Federal Research Grant Scheme (FRGS) by the Unit of Higher Academic Excellence, Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia. Also served as Board Member for Council of Auctioneers Malaysia, contributing to the drafting of draft policies for auctioneers submitted to the Attorney Chambers of Malaysia.

In 2016, Dr Sr Tham was honoured with the prestigious Royal Education Award (Pingat Jaya Cemerlang) from the Rulers’ Conference of Malaysia (Majlis Raja-Raja), personally bestowed by the Sultan of Perak, who is also the Chancellor for University of Malaya in 2016.
